Mooring Installations

Since its inception Australian Mooring Services has specialised in the installation, inspection and maintenance of moorings of any size. Over the years AMS has installed, and continues to maintain, hundreds of moorings along the Australian coast for the use of vessels. We also install navigation aids and complete mooring systems for fish farms.

During December of 2006 a mooring was installed for the FMG Group in Port Headland to accommodate the mooring of a 230 Metre barge, each one of the three anchors set weighed in at 20 tonne showing our capabilities of handling mooring installations of any size or scale.

All moorings installed by AMS are designed and certified by certified marine architects according to the composition of the seabed and the nature of the use of the mooring.

Materials used vary and include:

• Anchors
• Steel and Concrete Clump Weights
• Drilling and setting stainless pins

The AMS divers provide backup support of our mooring installations checking they are correctly set after initial installation and undertake annual servicing and maintenance of the installed moorings, which may include underwater videos, photos, a written detailed report and the change out of rigging when necessary.
